The Best Way to Select Tires for Sale

December 20, 2009 by

You may be looking for tires for sale for a few reasons.  Either yours are worn out or you bought a new car that needs new tires or the season is changing and you need to switch them out for more seasonally appropriate ones.  In any event there are some things you will want to consider when buying new car tires.

First thing to consider is what your budget is and whether you are getting tires for sale to meet a very specific performance need or whether you simply need them to meet the standard needs.  Your car make and model will largely determine the type of tire you need, performance vehicles have safety and other modifications that will only perform properly with certain tires.  Standard tires are made for standard use on standard cars in other words 85% of all cars will use their own standard – all the rest know who they are.

Tire size will determine the available manufactures and style for the tires you will eventually need.  Not all tires for sale fit on all cars, you will need to know the year make and model of your car in order to identify what size tire you will need.

Probably the most important factor involved is how much you want to spend on getting tires for sale.  More doesn’t always mean higher quality and less doesn’t always mean you’re getting the best deal.  Tires typically fall between $75 and $150 per tire so depending on how many you need you are looking at anywhere between $300 and $600 dollars to replace all four tires.  That will never include the state charges for dispensing your old ones and fitting the new ones so plan to add on another $5 to $15 per tire for those fees plus tax.

Name brand is really irrelevant for most people since most people have no idea who makes tires other than Goodyear and Bridgestone.  So rather than looking at name brand you may want to focus on how long they are supposed to last.  A tire that is $20 more than a competitor but lasts 10,000 more miles may be a better deal unless you are strapped for cash at the time.

Reading reviews is always a good way to go when evaluating the quality of tires.  People who you would consider ‘car people’ are usually pretty vocal about their experiences meaning there should be plenty of review to help you decide.  All you need to know is year make and model of your current car or the tire size.

Good article! It seems that many times when we are looking to buy new tires, price is the biggest consideration; however, tires have a great impact on our vehicles safety and it is a decision that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
