s10 Wheels For Your Chevy

August 31, 2010 by

s10 wheels are named that way because they belong on the Chevy s10, but it can be extremely difficult to get the right size dimensions for the s10 wheels.  You can always visit the Chevy dealership to get s10 oem wheels but they are often more expensive and less stylish than what you can get in used s10 wheels or after-market wheels.  There are two types of wheels that every car or truck has; steel wheels and cast wheels.  The steel wheels are meant for more rigorous off-road and heavy load duties.  Steel wheels are more durable and are what most trucks come with as the standard, they are also more affordable than cast alloy wheels which make them a little more popular on the open market when you look for s10 wheels for your Chevy.

Cast wheels on the other hand are constructed of alloy composites additionally they are rust resistant, flexible and strong allowing them to improve performance at high speeds. Because they are lighter in weight they are the preferred material for truck owners who want to increase the speed of their trucks and not necessarily their durability off-road.

The big problem with the Chevy s10 wheels is that they were discontinued when Chevrolet stopped manufacturing the truck.  Currently they are only available as s10 used wheels that are offered at auction sites like ebay.  There are of course a lot of options when it comes to after-market wheels and rims you can use in place of the s10 wheels, but not many that will give you the same look and feel of the s10 wheel.

As you can see the s10 wheel has a fat 5 spoke design that compliments the over-all look and feel of the tire.  At the same time the wide reinforced design provides an additional level of support to the truck for times when you need to be in off-road conditions.  The wheel itself is actually slightly larger than normal wheels and as a result can hold cars and trucks modified with hydraulics.  The Chevy s10 is a small/light truck and lends itself well to modifications because the design of both the inter mechanics and the body are really simple.

If you are looking to purchase Chevy s10 wheels you can plan on spending about $135 to $165 dollars per wheel and the price will only continue to rise as the rims become more and more rare.
