Military Tires Suppliers
Military tires are popular for two reasons, first for actual military truck tires and second to up-grade the tires you have now on your 4X4, turning it into a quasi military off road tires vehicle. So what are you in it for? Are you just looking to up-grade the tires you have now on your SUV or truck? Or do you actually have a military truck and need some firestone military tires? Because the answer to that will get you going in the right direction as there are suppliers who specialize in either or, but not very many that do both.
The reason for that is simple supply and demand, if you are looking to add to your SUV some sweet tires you are usually part of the after-market tire crowd, meaning chain stores like Big-O and Discount Tires, are advertising to you. But if you have an actual military grade vehicle you are in a niche segment that may include other accessories to the vehicle, wenches and other military surplus tires and such.
Military Truck Tires
If you need tires for an actual military truck consider the following suppliers:
Specialty Tires of America has a pretty good size variety of specialty tires. They have been in business for nearly 100 years and are located in Indiana, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Of course you can have the tires shipped to you if you know the exact size and specs and can install them yourself. This is often the draw back to ordering tires on the internet, the installation. You can always just take the tires with you to your local tire shop, but if you have a military vehicle, then this may not be the best option.
MilitaryTires.com is another option but its mainly useful for finding the size and specs for different tires, not so user friendly on the usability end. They have some easy to use tables that show you how to measure the capability of the tire, but you cannot purchase tires on that site.
Military Tires for the SUV and 4X4
If you are looking for military off road tires for your consumer vehicle you need to look at the bigger chains. There are a lot of sites out there that sell old surplus tires but you need to be mindful of the place they got the tires from. Many times the military tires have been out in the sun for weeks and weeks if not months. This can cause the tires to crack under pressure and then you are left with nothing.
