Audi TT Wheels

August 20, 2010 by

Audi TT wheels are nothing more than the styled and designed original wheels Audi decided to put on its stock version.  That doesn’t by any means suggest that the wheels are not up to snuff, it just means they were designed with the styling of the Audi TT in mind specifically.  Not all wheels and styles will look good with the distinct design of the Audi TT, so we have lined up their current 2010 model and wheels for you to compare, additionally you will see what we recommend looks the best for the money.

There are the stock wheels which are the Audi TT wheels that come with its most basic version:

These are 18″ wheels with generic summer driving tires on them.  You can see the styling is relatively bland, the set of 4 come standard on the basic model Audi TT.

The above featured Audi TT wheels are more aggressive in their styling perhaps taking on a more bold thicker characteristic.  These are still 18″ wheels with fairly generic tires although this audi tt wheel comes with a run-flat tire.

These Audi TT alloy wheels are beginning to add a little more flare and style to the overall look of the car.  But again are just 18″ and come with fairly standard rather than performance summer tires.

Ah the 19″ inch 7 twin spoke high performance tires and wheels.  These add an unmistakable level of class and style to the car.  Its for this reason they are an additional $2,000 to the sticker price.

So is it worth the extra coin to up-grade the Audi TT OEM wheels?  It depends on what kind of wheels and tires you can get for the $2,000 it will cost you to get them from Audi.  Audi TT replica wheels are out there on the internet but they are for people who want people to think they make more money than they really do and those sites prey on people who are trying to look cool.

Ask yourself a few questions before you decide what wheels and tires you want on the Audi.  Are you a performance driver?  Will you be racing people in this car?  Did you get it to feel young and feel the experience?  My guess is that most people looking for Audi TT wheels are looking to replace the ones they have with a more custom look.

Here is what you do, identify how much you are willing to spend.  Find a tire first that is performance based on the needs you have, almost any tire can be fit to any wheel.  Now you have a budget and a tire in mind, now find the wheel.  Here is what we recommend as the best looking wheels on the Audi TT.

Yea these European car companies aren’t known to include a nice set of wheels on their cars. Although they do have a lot of upgrade options but of course that is going to cost you extra!
